Defines the pathway for team members aiming to move within different sectors of Gear Inc.
1. Purpose
This policy aims to provide for employees the opportunity to apply for open positions that may enhance career growth opportunities and to ensure that all employee internal transfer requests are handled in a fair and consistent manner. It is the objective of the Company to assign each employee to a position that effectively utilizes the employee’s skills consistent with the overall company requirements.
2. Definition
Internal Transfer in Gear Inc means that all employees have the opportunity to apply for positions at other business units in Gear Inc.
For example: You can initiate an internal transfer process when you are working as a content moderator in Somo and interested in an open position in Engineering or Udemy and Express Team.
3. Eligibility
Employees may apply for a transfer opportunity provided they meet the following eligibility requirements:
– Minimum of 6 months continuous service in present position;
– Job performance at a satisfactory level and not the subject of a formal disciplinary action;
– Meet the minimum experience and skill for the open position.
4. Transfer Process
Step 1: When an employee finds interest in an internal job, the employee must discuss with their manager their intention of applying for that position and get approval from the manager. Managers shall not retaliate against an employee who requests consideration for a transfer.
Step 2: The employee comes to talk to the Human Resources about their interest in the opening opportunity. The HR will need to double check the approval from the employee’s current manager.
Step 3: The HR will inform the hiring manager of the open job then process the employee’s application.
Step 4: If the employee joins and passes the interview, The current manager of the employee will be informed by the HR in order to make a decision on the employee’s last working day. It is recommended that both managers of the two business units discuss and come to an agreement on that transferring date.
Step 5: The HR to proceed with the contract or paperwork accordingly and the Internal Transfer transaction is completed.
